NEUROPSYCHOLOGY
Kaaren Bekken, Ph.D., M.A.
Dr. Bekken completed her M.A. in Psycholinguistics and Ph.D. in Psychology at the University of Chicago. She comes to us after working for fifteen years at Massachusetts General Hospital - Neuropsychological Department and at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. She has also been in private practice for many years and joined us in 2006.
Services Provided
Dr. Bekken’s patient population ranges from ages three through adulthood, with special emphasis on disorders of language-based function, learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder, developmental learning disorders and head injury.
Ted Davis, Ph.D.
Dr. Davis is a clinical neuropsychologist with a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the Pennsylvania State University. He completed his internship at Cornell Medical Center, Payne Whitney Clinic at the New York Hospital in 1988 and then a Post Doctoral Fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in 1990. He is a licensed psychologist in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. In addition to his work at the Child Development Network, he is also the Director of the Center for Neuropsychology, Learning and Behavioral Medicine at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, New Hampshire.

Dr. Davis has extensive training and experience working with children, adults and elderly who present with a variety of developmental and acquired neurobehavioral issues. He is well known for his expertise in helping families and schools to better address the educational needs of children and adolescents with learning, attentional and other neurobehavioral challenges.
Scott M. Sokol, Ph.D., M.S.M.
Dr. Sokol received his Masters and Doctoral degrees from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and his Bachelors degree from Brandeis University, all in psychology. He also completed a postdoctoral Masters in sacred music. He is a licensed psychologist and Certified Health Services Provider. For twelve years, Dr. Sokol served on the clinical and academic faculties of neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He also completed a post-doctoral clinical fellowship at MGH, in the Neuropsychology Laboratory.
Dr. Sokol is a Fellow of The Association for Psychological Science and a former Fulbright Scholar. He has conducted research and written extensively on the topics of dyscalculia (arithmetic disability) and dyslexia, and lectures frequently on cognitive neuropsychology. He has two sons, 6 years and 3 years old.
Services Provided
Dr. Sokol specializes in cognitive and neuropsychological evaluation of children and adolescents with a variety of presenting concerns including ADHD, language-based and nonverbal learning disabilities and memory impairments. He helps parents and teachers to view each child?s cognitive profile individually and holistically, and favors a process-oriented approach to understanding cognitive and academic difficulties.
Janine Stasior, Ph.D., M.S.
Dr. Stasior received her Doctoral degree from the University of Massachusetts in Boston and her Masters degree from Cornell University. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Neuropsychology as well as a licensed psychologist and Certified Health Services Provider. Dr. Stasior completed her pre-doctoral and post-doctoral fellowships at the Children’s Hospital and Judge Baker Children’s Center - Harvard Medical School. She also trained in Clinical Child Psychology at McLean Hospital – Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Stasior specializes in the assessment and ongoing clinical care of children with varied developmental concerns, such as numerous learning disorders, ADHD, medical illness, and consequences of premature or multiple birth. She serves as developmental consultant to several preschools and public school systems, and lectures frequently on various topics related to the neurocognitive development of children. She has three children of her own, a 10 year old daughter and 7 year old twins, a boy and a girl.
Services Provided
Dr. Stasior provides neuropsychological and developmental assessments for children as well as consultation for their parents and care-givers. She also provides ongoing developmental management for children with learning and developmental concerns. She is also available for consultation to other pediatric or mental health professionals.
Pediatric and Developmental Psychology
Jennifer Cecchetti, Psy.D.
Dr. Jennifer Cecchetti received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from The Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology. She trained in Pediatric Psychology and Behavioral Medicine at Children’s Hospital Boston/Harvard Medical School. She remained at Children’s Hospital for a second year to complete a post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology and consultation work within the Psychiatry Inpatient Consultation Service.
Dr. Cecchetti is a child and adolescent clinician who specializes in pediatric psychology, psychological assessment, and ongoing clinical care of children with a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, adjustment and behavioral difficulties, and trauma. She works with children (pre-school to late adolescence) and their families using an integrative approach. She also has considerable experience working with children and their families who are coping with acute and/or chronic medical illnesses. Dr. Cecchetti originally hails from Massachusetts and is an avid Red Sox fan.

Interventions may include individual therapy for children and adolescents, parent training as well as family therapy. She also collaborates with school systems, pediatric and mental health professionals.
Rachael Coakley, Ph.D.
Dr. Coakley specializes in Pediatric Psychology and Behavioral Medicine. She completed her Doctoral degree from Loyola University in Chicago and trained in pediatric psychology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. She also completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Children’s Hospital Boston/Harvard Medical School. When not at the Child Development Network, she works with the Psychiatry Consultation Liaison Service at Children’s Hospital Boston.
Dr. Coakley works with children (pre-school through adolescence) and their parents, using a behavioral and cognitive-behavioral approach. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, behavioral concerns, and social skill deficits. She also specializes in working with youth coping with acute or chronic medical stressors and who have chronic pain. Dr. Coakley lives in Boston with her husband.

She also provides parent training, individual therapy with children and adolescents, and family therapy. She also works collaboratively with school systems as well as pediatric and mental health professionals.
Lou Eckart, Ph.D.
Dr. Eckart is a licensed psychologist and health care provider who received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Cincinnati. While there, she trained in pediatric psychology and psychological and neuropsychological assessment at the Cincinnati Center for Developmental Disabilities (CCDD) at Children’s Hospital Medical Center and at the Children’s Psychiatric Center. In Boston, she completed an internship in pediatric psychology at Franciscan Children’s Hospital, with an emphasis on providing evaluations and treatment for children with developmental disabilities and neurological impairment.
Dr. Eckart worked for the Neonatal Neurology Program at Children’s Hospital in Boston, providing developmental evaluations of infants and toddlers. For several years, she provided evaluation services for students at the Kennedy Day School, which serves children who have multiple handicaps and severe developmental disorders. Her experience also includes working as a child and family therapist in a community health center in Boston. She works closely with the Early Childhood evaluation and educational teams of several Massachusetts public school districts.
Dr. Eckart has experience and training related to the diagnosis, treatment, and education of young children with pervasive developmental disorder and autism spectrum disorders. Because she has worked in hospitals, community health centers, and schools, she has a diverse background in serving children who have a range of developmental needs. She also has many years of experience in working with educational teams and public school systems, helping children to get the appropriate special educational services.
Services provided
Dr. Eckart provides developmental evaluations of toddlers and preschool children to help parents understand their child’s unique strengths and weaknesses. She also provides detailed recommendations about how to intervene at home and in preschool for children with developmental delay or disability. She provides initial evaluations and follow-up services, including consultation to educational programs and pediatricians, as needed. She also provides consultation to families regarding how best to support their child’s developmental and behavioral needs at home.
Jennifer LeBovidge, Ph.D.
Dr. LeBovidge is a licensed psychologist and certified Health Services Provider. She received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Northwestern University and trained in pediatric psychology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Children’s Hospital Boston. She is also a staff psychologist in the Food Allergy and Atopic Dermatitis Program at Children’s Hospital Boston.
Dr. LeBovidge specializes in pediatric psychology and behavioral medicine, using a behavioral and cognitive-behavioral approach. She has experience and training in the treatment of anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, sleep problems, and behavioral concerns. She has extensive experience working with children with food allergies and eczema, as well as other chronic medical conditions. Dr. LeBovidge has two young children of her own.
Services provided
Dr. LeBovidge offers consultation and ongoing therapy. Interventions may include individual therapy with children and adolescents, parent guidance, and family therapy. Dr. LeBovidge also provides brief consultation for families of children with food allergy, to promote development of positive coping strategies.
SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY
Leah Winthrop, CCC/SLP, Speech and Language Pathologist and Reading Specialist
Leah completed her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. She also earned the Massachusetts Department of Education Certification of Speech-Language and Hearing, and Reading Specialist.
Services Provided
Leah conducts Speech and Language Evaluations and Reading Assessments for both children and teens. She also provides speech and language therapy and reading instruction utilizing the Wilson Reading Program, Orton-Gillingham, Language! and Project Read programs for reading therapy.
EDUCATION
Pamela Duncan, M.Ed.
Pam Duncan is a highly skilled educational specialist with 25 years experience in providing diagnostic assessments and educational therapy for children. Pam received her B.A. from U.C.L.A. and her M.Ed. from Tufts University. Certified in both regular and special education, she has taught in public and private schools in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Pam specializes in children with learning disabilities and works with students from Kindergarten through grade 12. She has consulted in the School Function Program at Children’s Hospital and maintained a private educational therapy practice for the past two decades.
Services Provided
Pam draws on her teaching experience to provide instruction-driven assessments of overall academic skills. She uses test results, questionnaires and observations to generate specific, individualized interventions aimed at improving a child’s school performance and self-confidence. She is also able to provide educational therapy in reading, written language, math, organization and study skills.
Meredith Krauss, Ed.S., Educational Specialist
Meredith earned her Masters in Teaching degree from Boston University and her Educational Specialist in Language & Literacy in Special Education degree from Simmons College. She is a highly qualified Reading Specialist who is certified as a Wilson Reading and Project Read teacher.
Services Provided
Meredith helps children and teens acquire the necessary foundation skills to learn to read and to write effectively and efficiently. She draws from her knowledge of technology to engage students and to maximize their learning. She has taught at the elementary school, middle school, high school and college levels.
Phyllis Schwartz, M.Ed.
Phyllis Schwartz is a highly skilled educational specialist with many years of experience working with a broad spectrum of students, Grades 6 -12. She has also mentored novice teachers at Brandeis University to assist them in developing a repertoire of skills to support diverse learning styles.
Services Provided
Phyllis provides training and instructional services to maximize the student’s learning and growth. She offers educational tutoring to students with a wide range of learning styles focusing on math, biology, organizational and study skills. The support services she provides allow students the opportunity to improve their academic skills and as well as their self- confidence. Phyllis will work with the all the individuals involved in the student’s world to achieve these goals, including parents, classroom teachers, therapists, etc. She also conducts observations of the student in the classroom setting, when appropriate.
